Welcome to ‘all-things-pop-music’. Yes oh yes this blog is all about pop music, its evolution, the artists and what the hell they get up to, don’t worry we will follow them fearlessly. A lot of what I will cover will be opinion- based which will help inspire debate and discussion.

Pop music is mostly the mainstream music you hear on radio today, it is influenced by a lot of other genres mainly R&B, Rock, etc. needless to say it is my favorite kind of music because it is a huge genre with a lot of sounds and is visually inspired as well. I see it as probably the most artistic (except for rock, my other favorite) genre.

As I type this I’m listening to ‘black and white’ by…………..yes you guessed it, Michael Jackson. Wacko Jacko is ofcourse the King of Pop simply because he single handedly changed pop music and his influences are heard from your favorite pop singers.

I am schooling all yall!! Queen of Pop?? Madonna of course, why? Simply because she’s probably thee most fearless pop artist that’s ever lived and has changed the pop scene for female pop singers. You gotta respect!

Pop music is the only genre that’s been so obsessed over its dynasty. Theres the King of pop (MJ), the Queen of pop (Madonna) and the pop princesses (Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, etc). Official much? Not really, just titles people like to throw around. Who would be the prince of pop then (Usher?? Justin Timberlake?? Who knows?). I like these titles, kinda celebratory to these folk that have influenced the game. What do yall think? Ofcourse other notable pop singers are Prince, Janet Jackson,  Cher, etc

And No I’m not gonna school yall every damn chance I get, only this first article, just some kind of introduction before we jump into things and hop on bandwagons. You’ll be surprised to know how many people actually don’t know what pop music is, most can’t separate it from R&B.

So how we gonna go about this? We’ll cover news from pop artists, their album releases, whatever their career moves are. We’ll be the fly in their rooms  and tell what (and maybe who) they are doing…you bet!! There is so much to say and so many artists and songs to talk about, this blog is gonna go crazy so you gotta keep checking it out for what’s coming next...oh boys and girls you might wanna hold on tight, we gonna do this like no other…
