Are you a Belieber??

Justin Bieber, are you a belieber??

Now this little girl boy right here has taken the teen pop market by storm after posting numerous videos on youtube. He was discovered by both pop giants Usher and Justin Timberlake, he then had to choose between the two and he went with Usher. Since then, he has sold millions of singles and albums and won numerous awards.

First time I saw this kid was on youtube and he wasn’t famous yet, I thought he had a lot of talent and I was impressed. Of course, at that time I never knew that some random kid on youtube would become such a superstar.
Now the question is are you a Belieber? I know I’m not; maybe I’ll be converted when he’s grown up and we hear real music from him.
Have you seen those girls that scream and cry to no end when they see him? That right there is better than watching stand up comedy!!

Apparently he is dating Selena Gomez (some Disney chick); imagine if Justin got a baby…hahaha! Now that would just kill his career, he must be careful not to do anything like that; the public builds you up only to tear you down.

So, now that I’m done rambling, are you a belieber?

Is Rihanna crazy???

Seeing as this is a pop music blog I thought okay, it’s imperative that I talk about Rihanna because she is one of the leading pop singers today. I then went onto the internet to find out what she’s doing with her life. Guess what? She’s on tour!
Now, I wasn’t surprised because she’s just released an album so she should be touring. Then, to my utter disbelief, I find out that she’s doing her final concert dates of her ‘Last girl on earth’ tour in Australia and that in June she’ll begin with her ‘Loud’ tour in North America, Europe and then South America next year.

Does this chick ever get any rest? Ever? No wonder there were reports doing the rounds that Jay-Z (her mentor) was worried about her and advising her to go on holiday. I for one think she’s working herself to the ground. She’s crazy!

And I bet you she’ll record another album around the end of this year seeing as she’s released an album practically every year since she came out. CLEARLY she wants to do as much as possible while she’s still the ‘flavor of the month’. Her movie ‘Battleship’ is going to be released in May 2012 so we’ll be seeing plenty of this chick.
Talk about chasing the American dream!!

What do you think of her crazy schedule?

Beyonce hates Lady Gaga?

Ooh boy, wait, before we go there let’s go back into time…
Lady GaGa stepped into the scene with ‘Just Dance’, yeah yeah I liked the song, and then when I saw her I thought ‘Oh, how refreshing, a crazy chick’. But I meant that in the most musical way possible.
The 2009 MTV VMAs came and that ‘crazy’ performance basically is what caused people to truly notice her, and then she became a ‘force to be reckoned with.’
Now, there came a point where I just started disliking her, she became all shock value and people thought she’s original. How could people think she’s original? I call her Madonna-lite.
Do not get me wrong, she makes good pop songs, but her art comes across as narcissistic. There, I said it!!

Now, back to Beyonce….
It is reported that Beyonce, well, after Lady Gaga’s dramatic ‘egg entry’ at the Grammys, is furious with her because she is over the top and selfish for taking all the attention. Apparently Beyonce vows to take her down.

Damn and I thought I was the controversial one. I do agree with Beyonce though, that Gaga chick needs to relax and let her talents speak for themselves (no, dressing weirdly is not a talent).

What do yall make of this??

J.Lo Comback??

Is J.Lo having her ''comeback''??

This Latina mama (her and her huge you know what) has released what is now believed to be her ‘comeback’ single for its success on the charts and with critics. It features rapper ‘Pitbull’ and is the lead single off her new album ‘Love?’ (to be released April,19th)

Now, I must say I haven’t heard the song as yet but it has been receiving positive reviews so naturally I had to write about it. CLEARLY her being a new judge on American Idol helped boost her single to #1 on itunes. Her debut episode broke viewership records and had 25 million people tune in.

The music industry has been bombarded with new artists, nice to see a veteran still being successful over a decade after her debut.
What do you think of her comeback??

Is Christina Aguilera having a meltdown??

This vocal powerhouse has been having it hard off late. First her album ‘Bionic’ received bad reviews and lackluster sales, and then she got a divorce from her husband Jordan Bratman. As if that wasn’t enough, she messed the lyrics of the USA national anthem at the Superbowl. She did of course redeem herself at the Grammys when she paid tribute to Aretha Franklin with a hair raising rendition of ‘Aint no way’. Then last week she was the passenger when boytoy boyfriend (Matt Rutler) got arrested for drunken driving.

Aguilera has been reportedly drinking almost every night to the point where her friends have advised her to go to rehab. The singer however doesn’t seem phased as she is releasing a new fragrance called ‘Secret Potion’. She is also a new judge on NBC’s new singing competition called ‘The Voice’ along with CeeLo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

Look, in my opinion, she can drink as much as she can, party like a rockstar (pop star)!!
People get over it, she aint no Charlie Sheen, she must just not mess up that golden voice now. People are talking about how she should be taking care of her son, why do you care? How do we know she isn’t? All I’m concerned about is her career, that’s it.
What do you think of her rather colorful year??

EXTRA: Bruno Mars’ Album Review

EXTRA: Bruno Mars’ Album Review by Drone

See now, when Bruno Mars’ debut album came out I was so inspired by his musicianship and superior vocal talent that I did a song by song review of his album. Here are my detailed thoughts:

"Doo-Wops and Hooligans"

The first lines of the opening track are 'easy come, easy go' but that can not be the case for the talented Bruno Mars, after listening to this album you can tell Bruno Mars is certainly the most mature and vocally talented male Pop artist today, at times very comparable to Ne-Yo with the sophistication of the lyrics and vocal styling.
The standouts for me are 'just the way you are', 'grenade', 'talking to the moon' and 'liquor store blues'

Track by Track analysis:

1. Grenade- This song is very catchy and should be released as a single, Speaking of a man who would do anything for one who he loves but she wouldn't return the favor. The smoking gun was her eyes being open during their first kiss but she was lying when she said she loved him. The lyrics are very intriguing and are very unusual hence sincere and pure. 10/10

2. Just the way you are- This is of course his 1st single from the album, an excellent choice with superlative vocals that got me to listen to the rest of his album. This is the kind of song that would make the toughest girl weak and those who gave up on love would be revived. The lyrics are simple and accompany the melody so well; one would understand why it topped the Billboard singles chart for four consecutive weeks. 10/10

3. Our first time- As the title implies, it’s about first time sex with a lover and going with flow and being slow. A subject I usually find annoying in songs but nevertheless his voice makes up for it going from soft in the choruses to going fuller in the verses, completed with a reggae inspired beat, this track showcases his versatility. 7/10

4. Runaway Baby- The only up-tempo song in the album, it makes for a good listen. He sings 'runaway baby before I put my spell on u'. The song is definitely a good breather in-between the deep music and is playful, very well placed in the album. 7/10

5. The Lazy Song- This song is one that I'll play on Sundays and those lazy days. It's definitely pleasing to the ear almost acoustic with simply structured guitar, drums and bass. A definite plus! 8/10

6. Marry you- Going back to singing at the top of his vocal range, him wanting to marry a girl almost carelessly as if he is in Vegas. But he does say he was looking for something dumb to do. 7/10

7. Talking to the moon- One of the standouts in the album, and one of my favorites. Neighbors think he is crazy because he is alone talking to the moon; the chorus definitely sticks in your mind. His impressive vocal range shines through hitting very high full voice notes, that certainly further complements the songs. 10/10

8. Liquor store blues- Very carefree side of himself and explaining how that’s only today and he'll be more put together tomorrow. With very relatable lyrics and reggae vibe further extended by featuring Damian Marley, this is a sure winner. 9/10

9. Count on Me- Very stripped down relaxed song with his voice taking center stage and it carries the song and the listener. This one is about friendship and is a smooth jam with soft strings, guitar and bass. 8/10

10. The other side- vocals beginning very relaxed and go bigger and bigger hitting some interesting notes in the chorus, while you are attending to that, Cee-Lo comes in with his pleasant, mature voice and his typical sound takes you through to the chorus employing his falsetto tricks then B.o.B shows up all of a sudden moving from a relaxed rap then his tempo goes up eventually and Bruno then takes to the chorus again. If you have never had sex before, this track feels just like it funny enough. 10/10

Chris Brown's Nude Pic Leak...

Now, we all know the internet blogging and social networks went crazy when a video of pop star, Chris Brown, was leaked and was all over the internet. Apparently one of his ex-girlfriends leaked it, we can tell it must have been recent due to the fact that homeboy is sporting his new blonde hair. I will not have a link to it, you can find it though if you search well enough on twitter.

I logged on to twitter as per usual then BAM!! Chris Brown’s pee pee was all over like a virus. I was mortified and traumatized and stayed away from twitter till things died down a bit.
The question now is did he do this on purpose? It’s possible, since his brand new album (F.A.M.E.) is coming out on March, 22nd. I for one don’t even want to here anything by him anymore, but I’m sure girls and gays will be lining up at the record stores as though they’ll get another viewing of his ding dong.
What do you think this will do to his already tarnished career?? You can comment below.
